“Saylor’s Trailer”

The name of this C-47 is “Saylor's Trailer” flying over the Hump in the CBI Theater.  This aircraft was assigned to the 10th CCS; 3rd CCG and flown by George “Jake” Saylor.  Jake said that one time he had to fly in circles inside a cloud for over 30 minutes to avoid being shot down by a Japanese fighter pilot.

"Saylor's Trailer" can be seen at the Air Force Museum, Warner Robins AFB just south of Macon, Georgia.  Jake who is now  in his 80”s lives with his wife just north of Montgomery, Alabama.
